Tim Duncan to Become Spurs Assistant Coach
One of the greatest players in San Antonio Spurs history may have retired as a player 3 years ago, but that doesn't mean he won't still be a part of the team, because he's coming back as a coach.
Actually, the all-time team leader in points, rebounds and blocked shots returned as an assistant coach yesterday. Duncan was also the only Spurs player to be on all 5 NBA championship teams.
Coach Popovich had a great comment when asked about Duncan's return.
"It is only fitting that after I served loyally for 19 years as Tim Duncan's assistant, that he return the favor."
Tim Duncan was also a 15-time All-Star, 3-time NBA Finals MVP and a 2-time NBA MVP.
