CharlieMac Sunday Drink Specials
Its Sunday, and assuming you don't have anywhere to be tomorrow (besides honoring our Veterans) then how about some bartender practicing? Here are some simple recipes that anyone can mix and enjoy.
Mermaid Mule (original source)
Ingredients:
6 oz Vodka
3 oz Blue Curacao
3 oz Lime Juice
1 can (12oz) Ginger Beer
Garnish – Lime Rounds, Paper Umbrella (very important)
How To:
Combine the ingredients into a pitcher with ice and stir. Then pour into a glass and top it off with the ginger beer. Don’t forget to add the lime round as a garnish and whatever you do, DO NOT neglect the paper umbrella. The paper umbrella is what really brings the whole thing together.
Frozen Dark & Stormy (original source)
Ingredients:
1 can Ginger Beer
1 tbsp Fresh Ginger
1 oz Fresh Lime Juice
2 cups Ice
4 oz Dark Rum
How To:
Combine all the ingredients into a blender, except the dark rum, and blend until smooth. Then pour into a glass (you’ll have extra to share…or for another drink) and top off with the dark rum.
Paloma (original source)
Ingredients:
2 oz Reposado Tequila
½ oz Lime Juice (extra lime juice needed to rim the glass)
Grapefruit Soda
Salt
Garnish – Grapefruit Twist
How To:
Rim a glass by dipping it into lime juice then into salt. Add ice to the glass then combine the tequila, lime juice and a Pinch of salt into the glass. Top off the concoction with the grapefruit juice and finally garnish with the grapefruit twist (however that is for a more aesthetic look than useful for the drink overall).
Granny Smackers (original source)
Ingredients:
1 bottle (12oz) Beer
1 can (6oz) Frozen Lemonade Concentrate
3 oz Vodka
How To:
Combine ingredients into a pitcher with ice and stir. Then pour into several glasses (or just one glass a lot)
Tanning Bed Cocktail (original source)
Ingredients:
1 ½ oz Coconut Rum
1 ½ oz Pineapple Juice
Garnish – Maraschino Cherry
How To:
In a glass with ice, add the rum then top off with the pineapple juice. Finally, finish off the display with a maraschino cherry garnish.
All, if not most, of these drink ingredients can be found at your local liquor store. Townsquare Media and KIXS 108 do not condone underage drinking and encourage you to drink responsibly. Have a safe and fun weekend!
