I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I'm not a fan of  'art contests'. I include singing competitions in that category. But, apparently, I'm in the minority when it comes to television shows like 'American Idol'. I must admit, they have uncovered some talented musicians we may have never heard of otherwise. Lady Antebellum has announced that their next single is “Wanted You More,” which is on their Own The Night album. Sometimes you just don't  know who you're talking to. Television's "Undercover Boss" counts on it. Sometimes you may be surprised at the connection people you see every day have with something as big as "Undercover Boss". Take Casey Housworth, for instance.

Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, aliens from outer space, and the 'chupacabra' are all legends that just about everyone has heard of. Whether you believe in the creature known as the "chupacabra" or not, it apparently makes a great story for television.

I guess since I'm in radio it probably isn't a good idea to be talking about television. But, what the heck, I can't help myself. I just feel like I should spread the word when  a promising young country performer gets a chance to expose his or her talent, especially on a national scale.

Even though he hasn't achieved a high degree of commercial success, it is impossible to deny the popularity of Shooter Jennings in Texas. Just take a look at his tour schedule (below) as he tours with Cody Canada and the Departed. Tonight he takes a huge step towards capturing that national audience and commercial success.

Next weekend (Sunday, April 1), the 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards will be broadcast live from Las Vegas. Many of the usual suspects fill out the nominees for the 2012 show, including Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum and Kenny Chesney. But one name missing from the duo category this year will be Brooks and Dunn‘s Ronnie Dunn and Kix Brooks following their public parting of ways in 2010.
