The USA Women's Soccer team came out on top in what was supposed to be one of the toughest matches for the United States.  USA over France today 3-1 with 2 goals coming in the last 10 minutes of the game!

Lauren Cheney got the game started off at the 9 minute mark with a goal to take a 1-0 lead.  Then 55 minutes into the game Sonia Bompastor from France came back to tie the game 1-1.  USA's Abby Wambach then scored off of a corner kick 79 minutes into the game which took the lead 2-1.  This was her 3rd goal in 5 games.

With only 10 minutes left France really had to step up their game.  Alex Morgan then broke away from a few of the France defensive players 82 minutes into the game lobbing it right over France's goaltender for goal number 3 leading 3-1.  She happens to be the youngest player on Team USA!

The USA only had 11 shots on goal compared to 25 from France.  So far the USA has beat Korea, Columbia,  Brazil, and now France to advance to the World Cup Finals on Sunday July 17th.  USA will be taking on the winner of Sweden and Japan on Sunday.  It will be interesting due to the fact that the USA got beat by Sweden on July 6th 2-1.  GO USA!
