Customers can now share their marketplace experiences with businesses on Better Business Bureau (BBB) serving Central, Coastal, Southwest Texas and the Permian Basin’s website. By launching this free service, BBB provides a new platform for customers to voice positive, negative, or neutral experiences they have with local businesses.

“BBB Customer Reviews give people the option to praise businesses for admirable practices and services. They can also post neutral or negative responses. Customer reviews do not affect a company’s rating, however we take them just as seriously as formal complaints,” said Carrie A. Hurt, President/CEO for BBB serving Central, Coastal, Southwest Texas and the Permian Basin.“In order to ensure the individual posting a review is indeed a customer, we verify each reviewer’s email address and give the business the opportunity to respond if they choose to.”

Adding to the many free services BBB provides to the public, BBB Customer Reviews give additional insight into a company’s behavior. BBB posts customer reviews to its BBB Business Review once the reviewer’s email address is verified for authenticity, and personal data or inappropriate text is redacted. Finally, the business must confirm the reviewer has an actual marketplace interaction.

BBB Customer Reviews are for customers who are not seeking a specific resolution. For those looking for a resolution, they can still file a complaint on a business. Businesses that receive customer reviews have the opportunity to submit replies directly on the review.

Reviewers can also add more comments to their reviews at any time or in reply to a business’s comments. With the addition of verified customer reviews, BBB shows an even clearer picture of a company’s track record in the marketplace.

Customers interested in posting or reading BBB Customer Reviews can visit bbb.org/central-texas. In the search box, type in the business name and click the link to the business’s BBB Business Review. At the top of the page, click the “Customer Review” tab.
