The White House Fact Sheet

Just a few weeks ago, the White House released this FACT SHEET: President Biden to Announce New Actions to get More American Vaccinated, which you can read in its entirety here, that offers, "We are now faced with a much more transmissible strain of this virus—the Delta variant. The good news is that we are prepared for this. We know how to stop it: get more people vaccinated."

The 3rd Wave of COVID

As the Delta Variant continues what is referred to as the '3rd Wave of COVID' throughout the United States its crippling effects can be felt throughout the US, in particular at this time, the southern part of the US, which includes Texas.

Two days ago the Texas Tribute offered that "The number of COVID-19 patients in Texas hospitals is accelerating faster than at any other point in the pandemic as the contagious delta variant spreads unchecked, primarily among the unvaccinated."

With those numbers in mind, nearly "1,500 or a 1/4 of all U.S. hospitals are now requiring staff to be vaccinated for covid" Modern Healthcare reports.

Vaccine Mandates Continue

The Fact Sheet offers that they will add COVID-19 vaccination to the list of required vaccinations for members of the military as well as "50 leading health care societies and organizations called for all health care and long-term care employers to require their workers to receive the COVID-19 vaccine."

Healthcare Vaccine Mandates

CNN reported that "Covid-19 vaccinations will be required for the more than 25,000 health care staff and volunteers working at the Department of Health and Human Services" as quoted by US Secretary Xavier Becerra

More employees are requiring proof of employee vaccination.

Big businesses like Wal-Mart, Uber, and Facebook are now requiring that their corporate employees get vaccinated. "We’re hoping that will influence even more of our frontline associates to become vaccinated,” Walmart spokesman Scott Pope said in a report by AP News.

Are more COVID vaccine mandates ahead for employees?

It looks as though more business will be requiring their employees to be vaccinated in order to continue their employment. The New York Times offers that "Yes, your employer can require you to be vaccinated. Read that article in its entirety here.

And for US citizens who are already vaccinated, Fauci offers this thought.

"We believe sooner or later you will need a booster for durability and protection," Fauci said Thursday at a White House Covid-19 Response Team briefing.  Fauci said officials are "evaluating this on a day by day, week by week, month by month basis, looking at any of a number of studies, both international and domestic," CNN reports.
