It Was An Anniversary In Iraq For Kellie Pickler

Think about it sor a second (it probably won't take the full second). Would you be willing to spend your first wedding anniversary to entertain our troops in Iraq? That's exactly what Kellie Pickler did, and she deserves our gratitude for doing so.

Kellie Pickler and her husband Kyle Jacobs spent their one-year wedding anniversary somewhere most people would not even like to visit – in Iraq! The singer tells Parade.com that they spent a few nights in the Caribbean before hopping on a plane to Iraq to take part in a USO Tour. It’s one of her favorite ways of giving back. CMT Daily Roundup reports Kellie saying, “The USO is by far the greatest thing that I’ve ever been a part of, it really is. I come from a military family so I’ve always had a respect for our military men and women but having been there, I mean, it changes everything about you. You leave one person and you come back a different person.” Kellie also mentions she only brings three guitar players overseas for a more intimate setting. As for Kyle’s experience, Kellie said he loved every minute of it.
