Hop On Out And See What’s Playing
It's getting very close to that time of year; the time of year when we get deluged with new movies. From May until August, on any given day or night, we will be able to see the latest (not necessarily the greatest) films available. It seems as if it starts earlier every year. It appears to me it's already started this year. The last film my family checked out was "Hop". Universal puts it this way, " Blending state of the art animation with live action, Hop is a comedy about E.B., the teenage son of the Easter Bunny. On the eve of taking over the family business, E.B. leaves for Hollywood in pursuit of his dream of becoming a drummer. He encounters Fred, an out-of-work slacker with his own lofty goals, who accidentally hits E.B. with his car. Feigning injury, E.B. manipulates Fred into providing him shelter, and Fred finds himself with the world's worst houseguest."
According to CMT Daily Roundup, Hop was the number one movie at the box office again this weekend. The family comedy features the voice talent of Russell Brand as “E.B,” the Easter Bunny’s teenage son. James Marsden appears in the film as “Fred O’Hare” and he told us about wanting to sign on to Hop because he liked production company Illumination Entertainment’s previous films like Despicable Me, and is a fan of the company’s president, Chris Meledandri. Marsden said,“I was really excited to be a part of the movie. I have two kids, so I was really familiar with Illumination and really familiar with Chris’s work and they’re just one of those animation companies that’s out there doing it right.”
You can catch "Hop" at the Cinemark Theater in Victoria now.
