We all hear folks talking in the Crossroads about masks. In HEB, at the gas station, or as they enjoy a meal.

Governor Greg Abbott is listening, and Texans are telling him they are at their limit. The statewide mask orders for the Lone Star state began back in the summer of 2020 and have been nonstop. Fox4News.com reports Abbott's comments from earlier this week are, "We’re working right now on evaluating when we’re going to be able to remove all statewide orders and we will be making announcements about that pretty soon."

Texas closed many of the bars around the state back on July 2nd after a spike in new positive cases of the virus. Cases did drop over the summer before a spike that happened around the Labor Day holiday after some of the restrictions were lifted on our eateries and watering holes.

The Governor has pledged there will be "no more shutdowns in Texas".

Abbott adjusted the mask order in the fall of 2020 so that if a hospital in a given area saw more than 15% capacity from covid-19 patients, businesses in that area would be limited in terms of reopening. At the end of February KHOU reports that only 5.1% of Texans have been fully vaccinated at this time. Abbott has said he is hopeful that as more treatments become available that the number of vaccinated Texans will climb quickly.
