The City of Corpus has just issued a boil notice for ALL Corpus Christ residents with the only exception being those residents on Padre Island ( Padre Island has a different waterline ).

As winter storms ravish most parts of Texas and millions without power, issues with heating have been abundant. Unfortunately for Corpus Christi, a major water break leading to possible water contamination has just become their biggest concern.

Caller-Times reporter Vicki Camarillo reports, "We are experiencing a major water main break somewhere in our system and we are investigating that right now, and it’s led to low water pressure or no water service,” city spokeswoman DeAnna McQueen told the Caller-Times.

Rumors have been floating throughout Corpus that the potential to cut water in the city might be a recourse in order to find the leak.

Inorder to avoid rumors and offer Corpus Christi the latest news update on the boil notice, a live stream meeting on Youtube was planned and promoted for promptly 10:30 am, which you can view here. The meeting ran late leading many Corpus Christi residents to express either their concerns, frustrations, or support for the City of Corpus on the Youtube page as it aired live.

Spearheaded by the newly appointed Corpus Christ mayor, Paulette Guajardo, Guajardo announced live that "ALL water customers are ordered to boil their water at this time in order to destroy harmful bacteria found in the water systems, especially those with compromised immune systems such as the elderly."

Allowing your water to boil into a 'rolling boil' was also advised.

Mayor Guajardo also advised residents of Corpus to please call 361.826. CITY (2489)  from 7 am to 7 pm tonight with any questions you may have.

The City of Corpus will let their residents know when it is safe to no longer boil the water.
