The first St. Baldrick's event in the South Texas area will be at 2 p.m. March 29th at Schroeder Hall. The event will include food, fun, and live music all for a good cause. St. Baldrick's Foundation raises money to fund pediatric cancer research, reports the Victoria Advocate.
The Museum of the Coastal Bend at Victoria College is seeking people who witnessed spacecraft launches at Matagorda Island more than 30 years ago. On Sept. 9, 1982, Space Services, Inc. successfully launched the 36-foot Conestoga 1 rocket from the south section of Matagorda Island.
The Yoakum Heritage Museum is hosting a wildlife exhibit Sunday. Admission is free but donations are appreciated. The museum will be open to the public on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm and Friday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

STX Drillers 14u baseball team has 2 spots available for 2015 spring season. They are also holding tryout for a 9u Team. Tryouts will be Saturday starting at noon at CWV Baseball Fields on Smith Road in Victoria.
UHV and soccer coach Adrian Rigby will hold open soccer tryouts for both the women's and men's programs on Feb. 21 at the UHV Cage, located on the UHV campus. The women's tryouts will be held from noon to 2:30 p.m., while the men's tryouts will be held from 2:30 to 5 p.m.
