Mack Dryden, a cancer survivor, creative writer, comedian and motivator, will tell his story at 7 p.m. tonight at the Leo J. Welder Center in downtown Victoria. Dryden was born and educated in Mississippi and is a former newspaper reporter and illustrator. He’s been delighting audiences for years with his relaxed stage presence, hilarious material and uniquely engaging delivery.

Hallettsville Golf Course will host the 15th annual HGA Scholarship Tournament in memory of David "Goon" Michalec Saturday at 10am. The format will be a one-person scramble and flights will be assigned according to handicap. The entry fee is $65 per player, with two mulligans included.
