UPDATE: Hours after Amber Alert Issued, Zechariah Sutton was found safe.

Amber Alerts play a critical role in helping save the lives of abducted children throughout our nation.

Sadly, an Amber Alert has been issued today, Monday November 11th, in Texas for a 5 year old boy, Zechariah Sutton from Overton, Texas.

Authorities throughout Texas are looking for a 59-year-old woman, Pamela Medlock, who was driving a green Jeep in connection to Zechariah Sutton's disappearance.

Pamela was last seen wearing a maroon-plaid jacket and khaki pants.

Pamela is not Zechariah's mother.

Police offer that Pamela is a friend of the family and offered to take Zechariah Sutton to "buy some toys for his birthday."

Because of the relationship and history with the family, they did not suspect any malintent but after hours of waiting, Zechariah never returned home and an Amber Alert was issued.

Zechariah Sutton, 5, was last seen Sunday, Nov. 20, around 11 a.m. in the 23400 block of FM 838 in Smith County.

He was last seen wearing a gray jumpsuit, and black and white tennis shoes.

Cameras at the local Wal-Mart indicated that Pamela and Zechariah were at the Overton Wal-Mart, but that is the last footage of the two of them together.

Authorities have indicated that Pamela might have mental issues and a history of drug use.
