Looking for a way to give back to your community? An Edna food pantry is in need of a few good hands to help them Friday. The First Assembly of God Church is one of few Jackson County locations providing a monthly service to its community by donating groceries to more than 160 families in its communities. The service operates with about half of the volunteers it needs, coordinator Stephen Jenkins told the Victoria Advocate. The food pantry is open from 10 a.m. to noon the last Friday of each month outside the church, 115 W. Cypress St.

Families begin to line up as early as 6:15 a.m., and volunteers that can come in early also would be appreciated. To find out more about volunteering, contact Jenkins at 361-212-3882.
