As they say around here, 'everything is bigger in Texas' and when it comes to Victoria county and voting... well, we had more early votes this year than 'you can shake a stick at.' You go Victoria! You go Vote Victoria!

For the last few weeks, you have likely heard several city officials and community members on our stations offering that voting is an American right,  and did you know there are only a handful of states even offering early voting to its citizens. Their message encouraged us to Be Heard Vote November 3rd.

Well, Victorians have really followed through!

In Victoria county, we're seeing record high early voting with new records set last week with lines of anxious voters out the door before voting locations opened. On the first day of early voting last week on, October 13th it was reported that 1,720 residents cast their ballots, setting a new early voting record from 2016 by more than 300 votes!

As of today, more than 13,000 residents have voted in Victoria county and it looks like the trend in Victoria will continue throughout the next few days as early voting continues.

Project Vote offers that early voting will save YOU time in line if you wait to vote on November 3rd.

Just a few hours ago, KSAT12 reported that Texans have cast more ballots than ANY OTHER STATE in the 2020 election so far.

You can continue to vote early in the days ahead at Victoria Community Center, on Saturday, October 24th from 9 A.M. - 5 P.M.  and Sunday, October 25th from 7 A.M. - 7 P.M.

UHV has added a new voting station as well! The UHV University North Multi-Purpose Room, 3007 N. Ben Wilson St will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 24 and noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 25 for early voters as well.

Your last day to vote early is Friday, October 30, 2020th

As mail-in voting ballots are counted, the Victoria Advocate reports, that out of the 5,313 ballots that were mailed, 3,583 have already been returned.

It seems Victorians are serious about their rights and want their voices heard.
