Do you remember how cool it was to go to the public library when you were a kid? It was a great experience every time. It still is. Where else can you find all of that imagination and information in one spot? Even with the advent of the world wide web, there's nothing that can take the place of a visit to the public library. Victoria is fortunate to have one of the finest public libraries in South Texas and they are always hosting events for all ages.

The Victoria Public Library is participating in World Book Night on April 23 by spreading the love of reading by distributing free World Book Night paperbacks. The Victoria Advocate reports that on this day, the Restoration House Ministries, 1204 N. Moody St., will be an official distribution point where free copies of "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings," by Maya Angelou, will be distributed. The library coordinates a variety of free programs and activities each month. To learn more, visit the library's event calendar at victoriapubliclibrary.org or call 361-485-3302.
