Victoria ISD is opening two of its campuses for residents to come in and recharge. Crain and Hopkins Elementary cafeterias will be open on Thursday, February 18, and Friday, February 19, from 11 am to 2 pm.

These two locations will open up and function as a space for community members who are currently without electricity in their homes. Residents are welcome to come in to warm up and charge their electric devices.

According to the Victoria ISD Facebook page, they ask that those who stop by please bring their own power cords and chargers, as those supplies will not be provided.

If you plan on stopping by Crain Elementary,  it is located at 2706 N Azalea St. The cafeteria is located inside the building on the school's north side. Please park in the parking lot near the tennis courts, northside.

For those who plan to stop by Hopkins Elementary, it is located at 110 Hopkins St. The cafeteria will be accessible from the main campus entrance. Parking will be available at the south end of the campus's front entrance.

Aside from charging devices and keeping warm, the two VISD locations will be providing hot meals for children and adults; quantities are limited.

Right now, food is becoming quite scarce as many stores are running out of fundamental supplies, including food.

The Victoria community is coming together to try and provide residents and members with what they need.

Christ’s Kitchen, located at 611 E Warren Ave, has emergency food bags and will be open for a hot meal Friday, February 19, at 11:00 am.

C3Victory is open from noon- 5 pm and is functioning as a warming shelter and charging station.

They are also doing everything they can to serve as many people as they can with a hot meal; C3Victory asks anyone who can help to please text 45777 with the amount they wish to donate.

C3Victory is located at 1604 East Crestwood Dr.

University of Houston-Victoria and Victoria College students can get essential supplies and food at JP's Market, which is a free and anonymous food pantry available to all UHV and VC students.

The pantry is located at 2703 Houston Hwy, in Jaguar Suites, Room 107. Please contact the UHV Student Life office at 361-485-4409 for times and more information.
