Taylor Swift: Pretty in Plum at 2013 Golden Globes
Taylor Swift attended the 2013 Golden Globes on Sunday night (Jan. 13) as a nominee for Best Original Song for 'Safe & Sound,' her tune with the Civil Wars that appeared in the blockbuster flick 'The Hunger Games.' It was a big night for the singer, and she responded by showing up for the ceremony in a gorgeous, plum-colored Donna Karan gown with a mermaid hem.
Swift knocked 'em dead in the dark dress, with her hair pulled off her face and neck into a bun that was tucked underneath. If her reported ex Harry Styles of One Direction saw how amazing she looked, he's probably be begging for her to take him back.
Unfortunately, Swift didn't win the Golden Globe -- that honor went to British songstress Adele for her song 'Skyfall' from the latest James Bond film. She was, however, mentioned in the jokes made by co-hosts Amy Poehler and Tina Fey. The comedic actresses pretended to be sloshed, with drinks in their hands, while they joked about Swift's love life, saying that she needed time to herself to figure out who she is, a reference to her many heartbreaks.
“You know what Taylor Swift?” Fey said. “You stay away from Michael J. Fox’s son!" Fox's son was on hand as Mr. Golden Globe for the evening, helping with the handing out of the statues.
Poehler then commented, “Or go for it, go for it.”
Fey shut it down, saying, "She needs some ‘me' time to think about herself." Zing!
The camera didn't cut to Swift, but she probably wasn't thrilled about being the butt of the joke. Nevertheless, she smashed it out of the park with her silky dress, which showed off her to-die-for figure.
Some fans were not loving her hair, which was tucked into a bun, but it was a classic look for another era. Overall, Swift was gorgeous.
