Taste of Goliad Friday

Goliad's Astron Club's Taste of Goliad will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Goliad Memorial Auditorium. H-E-B is underwriting this year's event. More than 18 food and drink samples will be offered by local and area restaurants and by members of the Astron Club. Empresario Restaurant, Werner's Smokehouse BBQ, Goliad Senior Citizens and Flavor of Old Goliad are some of those passing out flavorful tastes. More than 25 gift baskets and other items will be available at the silent auction, says the Victoria Advocate. All of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the following charitable or educational organizations: Goliad Food Pantry, Heart Sign, Goliad County Senior Citizens, Bum Phillips Charities, Goliad County Library, Coastal Bend College Foundation, Golden Crescent Habitat for Humanity and the Goliad High School Technology and Engineering Club.

Adult tickets are $10 each and children tickets are $5 each. Tickets are available from any Astron member or by calling Alpha Hunt at 361-645-8207.
