Sweet Home PTO to Hold Fundraiser

The Sweet Home PTO Annual Chili Supper and Auction is Jan. 26 at the Sweet Home Community Center, 348 County Road 391, Sweet Home. The meal of homemade chili, pinto beans, cheese, bread, condiments, dessert and tea will be served in the hall from 5 to 7 p.m. To-go plates will also be available. Meal tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for children, for dine-in meals. Presale tickets are available at Yoakum National Bank, First State Bank of Yoakum and Harley's House of Guns. Also available for sale will be sandwiches, hotdogs, snow cones, nachos, chips, sweets and sodas, says the Victoria Advocate.

Games begin at 5 p.m. There will be a variety of games for all ages, including the fish pond, cakewalk, toy wheel and several others. A raffle will be held. Contact any Sweet Home student or call the school at 361-293-3221 to purchase raffle or meal tickets before the event.

The auction starts at 7 p.m. Many businesses and individuals have donated items for this auction. If you are interested in donating an auction item, you may drop it off at the Sweet Home school or call to have someone pick it up.

All proceeds from this event go to the Sweet Home PTO, which funds a student scholarship program and various school activities.
