Original Harbor Bridge in Corpus Christi Being Dismantled

I was recently in Corpus Christi and drove over the Harbor Bridge for the first time. It is massive and makes the original bridge look small. While I was driving, I noticed that work was being done on the original bridge. They have started to dismantle the bridge, which makes me kind of sad.

The new bridge is incredible. Even though it is higher than the original bridge, it doesn't seem as scary. The incline is much more gradual. Once you cross over the bridge, you then get to appreciate all the other infrastructure that accompanies the bridge.

The view from the top of the Harbor Bridge is stunning.

Check out just how high the view is from the top of the bridge. According to the comments, it took about an hour to walk both ways on the bridge, and there were many people doing it. I will have to add this to my list.

New infrastructure gives Corpus Christi major update.

A new exit was created and gives drivers access to Staples from 181. There is also a new network of exit ramps and bridges that gives Corpus Christi a major upgrade, including easier access to Interstate Highway 37 from Highway 181

The bridge took almost 10 years to complete.

The new Harbor Bridge took almost 10 years to complete. Construction started in August of 2016 and there were many setbacks during construction. The vinal product is breathtaking and is a sign of changing times. The question now becomes, what happens to the land of the original bridge?
