Texas Family of 4 Tragically Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide
Tragedy hit the close-knit community of Allen, Texas, as a heartbreaking discovery revealed a family of four found dead in an apparent murder-suicide, leaving residents in shock. Police responded to a distress call that led them to a home, where a scene of unimaginable horrors awaited them.
A GRANDMOTHER IN DISTRESS
Police were called to a home in Allen after a frantic grandmother was locked out of the family's home and was unable to get a hold of family members inside.
STEPPING INTO A TRAGEDY
Police arrived and quickly gained access inside the home. As officers stepped inside the home they faced a horrible tragedy; laying on the ground were the lifeless bodies of 2 adults and 2 children.
The bodies have been identified as the father Farman Sherwani, mother Layla Sherwani, as well as their 12-year-old son Shaheen Sherwani, and 2-year-old son Mateen Sherwani.
PREVIOUS TRAGEDY IN THE FAMILY
Investigators believe a previous death in the family was linked to the murder-suicide. Less than a month ago the the parent's 4-year-old daughter Lyian Sherwani tragically drowned.
The family was having an incredibly difficult time dealing with the tragic loss. "In this type of situation, it’s not easy for any family. Despite having many family members here, they were really broken," said Abdul Rahman Bashir, the religious director of the mosque where the family were members.
As police were searching around the home family members began showing up and officers had a difficult time calming down the completely distraught grandmother.
A PREVIOUS SIMILAR TRAGEDY IN THE COMMUNITY
Sadly, the community had experienced a similar loss only two years ago when a family of six died in a murder-suicide. "It’s something that punches the gut of the entire community, especially since we experienced something like this not too long ago," Bashir said.
