Martin Garcia Sr. to Speak in Corpus Christi

Martin Garcia Sr., junior vice commander for the Military Order of the Purple Heart Department of Texas, is scheduled to speak at the Vietnam Veterans National Day Ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sherrill Park, on Shoreline Drive, in Corpus Christi. The ceremony will include 36 veterans service organizations from Corpus Christi and the Nueces County area, reports the Victoria Advocate. Representatives from local veterans service organizations are urged to attend. The event is hosted by the United Vietnam Veterans of Texas. A brisket plate meal will be provided after the ceremony at the VFW Post 2397, 4441 Ayers St., Corpus Christi.
