ARE THESE JUST RUMORS?:

Let's just say that I hope this isn't true. Splashtown is my family's go-to waterpark in San Antonio.  However, this is a very real possibility. As reported by KSAT-12, San Antonio businessman, Bobby Cavender told the San Antonio City Council that his family wants to put a Ford dealership where the water park currently stands.  Are you kidding me?

THE PROPOSED PLAN:

San Antonio City Council has recently approved a zoning change that would allow for a car dealership to be built on the property. Cavender has told council members that the Cavender family is looking to buy the property because the owner of Splashtown “has decided to retire.”

MORE JOBS:

According to Cavender, the deal would mean new jobs as they would probably be tripling their current staff and said many of those jobs would go to graduates of St. Philips and other technical schools in San Antonio. If this was to happen, it would be a positive thing for the economy of San Antonio. At the same time, it will be a very sad day if this happens. Splashtown opened in San Antonio in 1985.
