Want to stop heart disease? I want that, too. After having a scare with my heart this past year I have come to realize how important it is to pay attention to your body. I would like to invite you to the first annual event in Victoria on February 9th, 2017 at the Victoria Community Center.

By the time you finish reading this; two women will have died from heart disease.  As the number 1 killer of men and women and the number 2 killer of children, it’s a sad fact that no one can escape being touched by heart disease or stroke in some way.

Go Red for Women Victoria group is proud to announce that we have joined the American Heart Association’s lifesaving mission of building healthier lives free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.  To that end, we are participating in the AHA’s signature fund-raising movement, Go Red For Women.  In addition to raising vital funds for heart disease and stroke research and education, Go Red engages companies and families to promote, educate and empower others to make healthy lifestyle changes for children and adults here in our own communities.

This initiative is especially important to our group and the many families in the Crossroads because many of our own loved ones, friends and co-workers have experienced the heartbreak that these diseases can bring. Go Red for Women movements have funded research, public and professional education programs, and community outreach activities.  Grants funded by the American Heart Association have led to groundbreaking advancements in cardiovascular and stroke care such as stent advancements, new CPR techniques and innovative drugs that improve the quality of life after stroke.  It is because of supporters like you that we are able to educate and fund people to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.

The first annual Go Red Event is Thursday, February 9th at 5:30pm.  This event promises to be an evening filled with fashion, entertainment, good cheers, speakers and delights in benefit of The Heart Association Go Red for Women. Get your ticket today at Warm Springs Specialty Hospital ,Warm Springs Rehabilitation Hospital, or VCS Companies (302 Kerh Blvd) . For  sponsorship information call Rhonda Reeder 361-827-6023.
