Feel like we need better internet in the Crossroads? You are not alone.

I'm not going to name names, but someone wanted to scream out loud several times during the pandemic after she had suddenly found she was going to be a home school mom for an entire school year but access to broadband was limited where her family lives.

She knows she is not alone.

The City of Victoria asks for feedback.

In fact, she knows she is not alone especially now that the City of Victoria has asked for feedback for their internet initiative to help to improve internet accessibility, reliability, and affordability in the Victoria community.

Civil engineering company CobbFendley is launching a feasibility study in partnership with the City’s Victoria Broadband Commission to assess broadband needs in the Victoria area and most importantly, perhaps, develop solutions.

CobbFendley and the City will host an online survey and a public workshop to gather feedback from residents.

Survey says!

The City of Victoria is inviting you to visit with them at and take the survey.

Residents who do not have internet access can contact CobbFendley at 713-462-3242 to respond by phone or visit the Victoria Public Library for assistance.

Our new Mayor-Elect, Jeff Baulknight offers his thoughts as well.

“We are excited to take steps toward gaining a more complete understanding of the digital divide in our community,” said Mayor-elect Jeff Bauknight. “This has been an ongoing effort from our City staff, and we are hopeful that our citizens will join us in working toward improving connectivity and access in Victoria and the surrounding region.”

When is the survey due?

Survey responses must be submitted by 5 p.m. July 28th.

Don't want to fill out the survey but still want to have your voice heard?

The City of Victoria along with  CobbFendley will host a public meeting which you can attend ( or attend via Zoom by linking here) on July 21st at 5pm at the Victoria Community Center as well.
