Goliad's Astron Club's Taste of Goliad will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Goliad Memorial Auditorium. H-E-B is underwriting this year's event. More than 18 food and drink samples will be offered by local and area restaurants and by members of the Astron Club. Empresario Restaurant, Werner's Smokehouse BBQ, Goliad Senior Citizens and Flavor of Old Goliad are some of those passing out flavorful

There will be a meeting concerning the 'Goliad County Relay For Life' this evening at 6pm at the Goliad Presbyterian Church, 114 North Market in Goliad.

The Goliad High School Class of 1974 is planning its 40-year reunion on Homecoming Weekend, which is Oct. 3 and 4. They will get together at the Goliad High School football game Oct. 3 and then have a barbecue at the home of Connie Jacob Westphal on Oct. 4.

The Goliad County Historical Commission will be hosting a free event featuring a lecture by author Gary Brown, who will be speaking on the topic of his upcoming book about the numerous historic bells of Goliad.
