I love revisiting and reliving nostalgia! With that being said, this footage of Astroworld popped up on my social feed. The first video features a commercial that I actually remember seeing on TV. The second picture is a receipt that shows what admission to Astroworld was back in 1993.   The last video features footage from atop the Astro Needle.

@thegenxfactor This week... Astroworld, our local theme park while growing up, that no longer exists. #astroworld #amusementpark #sixflags #genx #genxontiktok ♬ original sound - Rocky Seale

The post shows a receipt from Astroworld back in 1993. How much was admission during the Summer special? Only $12.95! Hard to believe that was the price TWENTY-NINE YEARS AGO!  Someone on that Facebook thread did the math for us. $12.95 would equal $50.85 in today's money.  The final date of park operation was October 30, 2005, and it was soon demolished afterward.   I miss those fun Astros game/Astroworld kind of days.

@googletheworld | AstroWorld (1990) | AstroNeedle was a gyro tower located in Houston's Six Flags Astroworld, in the U.S. state of Texas. The ride opened in 1968 and was located in the amusement park's European Village section. The landmark closed in 1999 and was dismantled in February 2000, five years before the park closed permanently. The ride was to be relocated to Six Flags Mexico in Mexico City but never commenced.[1][2] It was the tallest ride in the park when it was completed, as well as the one of the tallest rides in the world when it opened in 1968. #houston #houstontx #houstontexas #houstontiktok #713houston #htown #astroworld #1990s #memories #amusementpark #vhsvideo ♬ original sound - Daniel “Curious” NP

X-L-R-8 was the first thrill ride I ever went on. The suspended steel coaster definitely brought up the adrenaline.

This roller coaster didn't open until March 14, 1998, and was renamed Taz Texas Tornado. I still remember Taz in the commercials.

During its run at Six Flags AstroWorld, it featured a tunnel surrounding the first drop. The exterior had a dragon mural although most people mistook it for a Viper. I mean that is the name of the ride.

LOOK: Here are the 50 best beach towns in America

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.
