Victoria Christian Assistance Ministry will hold an open house from 2 to 4 p.m Oct. 26 at its newly renovated facility at 108 N. Liberty St. in downtown Victoria. The public is invited to the come-and-go event to enjoy light refreshments with an opportunity to tour the facilities and learn the history of VCAM. The open house will allow everyone to witness the ministry provided through VCAM's assistance programs.

VCAM was established in 1986 for one essential purpose: to provide food for the hungry. Today, VCAM continues to operate as a safety net for families and individuals in crisis or need, providing supplemental food and, when funds are available, assistance with water bills, rent, prescription medication and transportation for medical purposes.

The VCAM Family Closet volunteers distribute clothing two days a week. An innovative Client Choice program emphasizes healthy nutrition and allows clients to choose their own food items. VCAM is open five days a week from 9 a.m. to noon.
