After spending years as half of one of country music’s biggest duos, Brooks and Dunn‘s Ronnie Dunn has taken a leap out into the genre on his own. He has already produced a critically-acclaimed solo album, as well as three hit singles from the collection of new tunes.

Ronnie Dunn has been an active Facebook and Twitter user in recent months, especially now more than ever with the presidential race taking place. While Dunn hasn’t flat out said who he is pulling for to be the next president, he does say enough to get his fans buzzing.

Next weekend (Sunday, April 1), the 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards will be broadcast live from Las Vegas. Many of the usual suspects fill out the nominees for the 2012 show, including Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum and Kenny Chesney. But one name missing from the duo category this year will be Brooks and Dunn‘s Ronnie Dunn and Kix Brooks following their public parting of ways in 2010.

Even the biggest country stars decorate their homes to celebrate Christmas. You would think they would hire someone to do the actual designing and decorating, and, I suppose some of them do... but not all of them.

As a member of Brooks & Dunn, Ronnie Dunn was half of one of the most successful duos in the history of country music, responsible for 26 number one singles and more than 30 million albums sold. But as he discovered this year, starting a solo career still poses its own unique challenges — and even with all those hits under your belt, stepping out on your own can feel pretty lonely.
