Virginia Earthquake Felt as Far Away as New York, Toronto, and Washington D.C.
An earthquake epicentered in Virginia occurred Tuesday afternoon, with people in Washington, DC, New York, Ohio, North Carolina, Massachusetts and Toronto reporting they felt the tremors, as well.
Reports thus far indicate the quake registered a 5.9 on the Richter scale.

ERCOT News Release: Power Warning – Conservation Critical
Austin, Aug.4, 2011 - Consumers and businesses are asked to reduce their electricity use during peak electricity hours from 3 to 7 p.m. today to avert the need for rotating outages.
The Electric Reliability Council of Texas, Inc. (ERCOT), system operator for the state’s bulk transmission grid, initiated Energy Emergency Alert Level 2 at 2:26 p.m. today due to responsive reserves below 1,750 megawatts (MW).
"Interruptible loads – large customers paid to be dropped in a level 2 emergency have been deployed," said Kent Saathoff, vice president of system planning and operations.

It's highly unlikely that the final bid on this Casey Anthony Mask is legitimate. The surprising fact is that this is actually a thing, that there is a mask of Casey Anthony floating around and that people actually bid on it.
A quick check of the bidding history shows three bids in a row that escalated the price from the more "reasonable" $45,000 dollars to $700,000. All three bids appear to be made by the same user ID.
