What a difference a year makes. Last year at this time, Kip Moore was mingling with fans at the CMA Music Festival, some familiar with him and some not. Well this year, Moore can’t walk into a room without fans going crazy.

Kip Moore is on one heck of a ride to country superstar status. Not only does he have a critically-acclaimed debut album on the shelves, as well as a new music video and a No. 1 hit song for his latest single, ‘Somethin’ ‘Bout a Truck,’ but he also recently just found out that the song has been certified gold for sales exceeding 500,000 digital downloads.

It’s a little early to call any album the best anything of 2012, but it’s no stretch to say Kip Moore‘s debut is the best by a new country artist this year, so far. ‘Up All Night’ introduces the gypsy from south Georgia as an inspiring storyteller, a talented lyricist and a gritty, well-traveled vocalist.

Kip Moore‘s first gold single almost never happened.
