Out of a huge batch of relatively new country acts, Billy Currington has quietly made a great name for himself. If you got a chance to see him open for Kenny Chesney, you know what I'm talking about. A real milestone in a country performer's career is the chance to "headline" your own tour. It's about to happen for Billy Currington.

Billy Currington will embark on his first headlining tour in 2012. The singer spent 2011 on Kenny Chesney’s Goin’ Coastal tour, and admits that he prepares himself differently depending on how many people he’s playing in front of that night. Currington told CMT Daily Roundup,“You definitely picture, um, uh, a big sea of people, and you picture it over, and over, and over, and over, usually around the day of a show, or the night before. You know, I talk to myself about how I’m gonna connect with this crowd [laughs], how I’m gonna do everything I can to reach the people way back there in the back.” Billy will be joined on the tour by David Nail and Kip Moore. Dates will be announced soon at BillyCurrington.com.

You can hear Billy Currington every day on KIXS 108.
