Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church Hosts Swedish ‘Big Band’

Victoria has become quite a magnet for all genres of music. Here is my point... you want to hear Christian 'big band' music? You can... right here in Victoria.

The BIG Big Band from Sweden is coming to Victoria as part of its ninth U.S. tour. The band will perform Christian music "big band style" at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 4102 N. Ben Jordan St.

The 63-member band includes young people in their late teens through members who have played in the band for more than 40 years. Vincent Nilsson, a world renowned jazz trombonists, will perform with the group during its U.S. tour. The band's 2012 Texas tour includes concerts in the Dallas/Fort Worth and Houston areas, Austin, San Antonio, Victoria, Temple and Boerne.

There is no charge for admission, but a free-will offering will be taken benefiting Shepherd's Canyon Retreat Ministry. The public is invited to this one night only concert.
