The Nave Museum's "Dia de los Muertos" exhibit will be from Oct. 2 to Nov. 1. The exhibit will feature crafted Day of the Dead altars as well as the works of local Manhattan Art Program students. For the fourth year in conjunction with this exhibit, the Nave is hosting a retablo silent auction, says the Victoria Advocate. The public is invited to participate by creating and donating a retablo to benefit the Nave. Last year's exhibit attracted more than 2,500 visitors and raised more than $5,000 to aid the Nave in its mission of reaching out to enrich, enlighten and educate through visual and cultural art. The silent auction will begin Oct. 2 and end on the closing day of the exhibit, Nov. 1. Art will remain on display at the Nave for the entire exhibit. Those donating their creations along with their guests will be welcomed at the opening reception. Completed Retablos must be delivered to the Nave no later than Sept. 19.

If you are interested in participating, contact the Nave at 361-575-8227 or at info@navemuseum.com for further information or to register and make arrangements to receive your aluminum base.
