In the Texas Country music scene, there are acts renowned for putting their whole heart into their live performances and truly bringing it show after show. The Casey Donahew Band does just that. Take for instance the band’s leader and namesake, Casey Donahew, and his admiration for one of country music’s greatest stage presences. Donahew cites Garth Brooks as being a huge inspiration for him as a songwriter and performer. Donahew, a Burleson, TX native, first cut his teeth as a musician back in 2002 at venues like the Thirsty Armadillo in the Fort Worth Stockyards. A student at the University of Texas/Arlington, Donahew quickly conquered the small club circuit and was packing out larger places in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. The fans have always been foremost on Casey’s mind as he built his career, and he makes his music with them in mind. For Casey, it’s never been about accolades, or awards, or even major label attention or fawning. It’s simply about the music.  His breakthrough album, “Double Wide Dream”, is packed full of that unbridled, can-do indie spirit that has rocket-powered his entire career right from the start. From the straight-shooting, hilarity of the leadoff single, “Double Wide Dream,” a redneck’s declaration of love for his hot mess of a wife, to the heartfelt twist of “Give You A Ring,” and the hotter-than-a-jalapeno, Texas-tinged smoker, “One Star Flag,” the tunes on this new CD cover a broad range of material and emotions.  The Casey Donahew Band’s performance at Bootfest 2014 will be one you won’t want to miss.
