Annual Quilt Exhibit Ends Today

I have always been amazed at the work that goes into making a quilt. My grandmother made several quilts, on her own and in conjunction with friends and quilting organizations. I learned from her what a time consuming process it was to make a proper quilt. Patience and love are a very large part of this process. Much patience and love are on display today at the Victoria Public Library.
Today is the final day to see the annual Quilt Guild of Greater Victoria’s exhibit at the Victoria Public Library.
This year’s exhibit, for the first time, includes king-sized quilts in addition to the traditional full and queen-sized ones. Another first is the inclusion of art quilts from the Studio Art Quilt Association. In addition to quilts, exhibit cases display antique, vintage and modern versions of a variety of sewing tools and notions used to turn pieces of fabric into quilts like those on display.
The library, 302 N. Main St., is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on today.
