One of the Crossroads most treasured holiday celebrations every year is Dia de Los Muertos and we were beyond thrilled to learn Victoria was given a green light to move forward on our community-wide time-honored tradition of celebrating those who have gone on before us.

Dia de Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a multi-day holiday that involves family and friends gathering to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died. It is commonly portrayed as a day of celebration rather than mourning, celebrated alongside All Soul's Day on November 1st and 2nd.

Victoria's Dia de Los Muertos Event will be hosted this Saturday, October 31st from 12 to 6 pm in downtown Victoria.

The celebration planned includes mariachi music, pop-up alters, kids games and crafts, storytelling, sidewalk art, and of course, pan dulce!

Mariachi Tapatio will be playing from 2:30 to 3:30 pm as well as Josh Vega from Free Art Victoria helping with art projects like the Sidewalk Art which will be located at the 100 block of E. Constitution and hosted by Bridgitte Postel, Jennifer Garza Abran Rodriguez, with help of Danielle Williams with the Main St. Program.

Come check out some downtown businesses that are also displaying altars in their windows! ALL Victorians are welcome to set up their own altars downtown in designated areas as well.
