With the Fourth of July right around the corner, the city of Victoria will be closing up non-essential services this Friday in observance of Independence Day.

In a press release from the city, here is some helpful info about offices that will not be open this coming Friday. If it is a non-emergency office in the city of Victoria it will NOT be open on Friday.

The Victoria Public Library will also be closed on Friday, July 3rd and Saturday, July 4th. Victoria's recycling center will also be closed on July 4th but will open again on July 11th and resume a regular schedule.

You can still run your trash to the curb this weekend as garbage, curbside recycling, yard waste, and tree limbs will still all be collected on their normal days. Both the compost and brush site and the Victoria landfill will both stay open over the holiday weekend.

Don't forget that this Fourth of July that Victoria Parks and Rec will host 'drive-in' style fireworks at the Victoria Community Center. You'll be able to park your car and enjoy the fireworks show and still keep a safe distance from others. Parking will open up on Saturday at 5 P.M. with the fireworks starting up at 9:30 P.M.
