Gateway Brass, the brass quintet from the United States Air Force Band of the West, will present a January concert at the Leo J. Welder Center for the Performing Arts. Gateway Brass is the brass ensemble of the USAF Band of the West and is stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. According to the Victoria Advocate the ensemble includes two trumpets, a French horn, trombone, tuba and percussion. Gateway Brass is dedicated to presenting to its audiences the total spectrum of today's musical literature.

The members of Gateway Brass bring to the United States Air Force many years of professional experience with symphony orchestras, chamber ensembles, touring shows and today's popular artists. Gateway Brass performs for civilian and military audiences throughout the southwestern region of the country with a repertoire spanning five centuries. The ensemble travels more than 20,000 miles annually and appears in more than 100 concerts and clinics. The group also performs at military ceremonies, conducts educational clinics and presents entertaining community concerts throughout Texas, Louisiana, Arizona and New Mexico.

The Gateway Brass performance will be at 2:30 p.m., January 20th at the Leo J. Welder Center for the Performing Arts, 214 North Main St. in Victoria. The cost is free, but tickets are required.
