Victoria Fire Department is hosting a free flu shot clinic on December 9th in its continuous effort to help reduce the number of hospitalizations during the pandemic.

Mid-Coast Family Services and the Victoria Area Homeless have teamed up with Victoria Fire Department and will help coordinate this event.

The clinic will take place at the Victoria Community Center, 2905 E. North St., from 1 pm till 6 pm. 

 

Under conditions established by the federal government, people who receive the free vaccinations must fall below 80% of Victoria’s low-to-moderate-income threshold; in addition, they also must not have access to health insurance. Residents must provide eligibility by providing two months’ worth of pay stubs and bank statements or, if unemployed, may provide proof of unemployment or self-certify that they have no income. 

 

2020 income limits for Victoria are as followed: 

Family of 1- Annual income: $38,550

Family of 2- Annual income: $44,050

Family of 3- Annual income: $49,550

Family of 4- Annual income: $55,050

Family of 5- Annual income: $59,500

Family of 6- Annual income: $63,900

Family of 7- Annual income: $68,300

Family of 8- Annual income: $72,700

If you happen to miss this flu clinic, you may have some more opportunities in the near future. According to The Victoria Fire Department Facebook, officials at the department plan to continue hosting free flu clinics through January.
