Music, music, and more music is being performed in Victoria and the surrounding communities. Monday evening you have the opportunity to enjoy some great jazz played by some of the most talented jazz musicians the crossroads has to offer... and it's free!

Students from the Victoria College Jazz Combo and Commercial Music Ensemble have been preparing since Jan. 16 to perform their second annual Concert in the Quad. The event will begin at 7 p.m. Monday in the school's quad and is free to the public.

Jonathan Anderson, the director, said the students' transformation has been amazing. He told the Victoria Advocate it's a pleasure to work with the talented kids. "It's a joy to work with these kids everyday," he said.

The band will play a variety of music from Chic Correa, Duke Ellington and Miles Davis. Anderson said that pleasant weather and the ambience are ideal elements for the concert. "Anytime you do an outdoor concert, that adds a lot of character," he said.

The concert takes place at 7 p.m. Monday at the Victoria College Quad, 2200 E. Red River St., Victoria. For more information call Jonathon Anderson at 361-573-3291.
