I know, you are thinking, dang, he got me with the headline! Trust me, I know the feeling; I thought the same thing when I saw the article from MySA.com. I was like, no way the Chiefs leave Kansas City. The team, with its incredibly dedicated and passionate fanbase, has been a pillar of the NFL, even before they started piling up the Championship hardware.

There is something in the air, though. According to MySA, Jackson County, Missouri, voted down a sales tax measure that would have helped to fund a new downtown ballpark and significant renovations to Arrowhead Stadium. The action leaves the future of the Chiefs in Kansas City in question and raises the question of which city or state could host the team

The Alamo City is no stranger to the NFL's attention. The city has been flirted with by NFL teams before, including the new Las Vegas Raiders and the New Orleans Saints, in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. This history of interest from the NFL raises the intriguing possibility of San Antonio becoming a new host.

Personally, I think Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys would squash any deal. Let's face it: San Antonio is a Cowboys stronghold, and I'm sure Jerry wants to keep it that way.

But San Antonio makes a lot of sense. It's one of the largest and fastest-growing cities in Texas, and the NBA Spurs are the only major professional team in town.

The Chiefs played as the Dallas Texans in the American Football League from 1960 to 1962. In 1963, former owner Lamar Hunt moved the team to Kansas City, and it was renamed the Chiefs. It's not like it couldn't happen, and Chiefs Owner Clark Hunt is looking at some options. He has said he would like a new facility instead of renovating Arrowhead Stadium. He also said they are focused on staying in Kansas City but will consider alternatives.

Who knows, maybe San Antonio is getting played for concessions from Jackson County, Missouri. But, there are strong rumors linking the move to San Antonio by the Kansas City Chiefs.
