Spring Break Ideas: Our First Trip to Moody Gardens

Spring Break in Texas is right around the corner.

Some of the airlines are running some really cheap ticket prices right now and my family in the midwest found that they could basically fly to Houston with their bonus points from Southwest. We decided to take my two nieces over to Galveston so they could visit the beach and head over to Moody Gardens.

You know we had to hit up the amazing restaurants along the seawall in Galveston, and you gotta do Pleasure Pier and Kemah Boardwalk so we made a super fun weekend out of it. Now I have never been to Galveston, Texas before so I'm not sure who was more impressed, me, or my sister and her kids? Ha! The first step to a spring break win is to book your visit in advance. Hotel discounts, group packages, and dinner cruises onboard the beautiful Colonel Paddlewheel Boat are all things you might miss out on if you don't plan ahead so be sure to consider visiting their sites for all kinds of Spring Break perks. We really enjoyed exploring the rainforests of the world in the Rainforest Pyramid, and the kids loved the 3D Shark Adventure inside the Aquarium Pyramid. We didn't get to book a dinner cruise but we did get to tour Galveston Bay for a daytime ride on the Colonel's paddlewheel. Such a great way to relax and enjoy the view. While we have enjoyed a visit to Seaworld and Fiesta Texas in the past, there is something so cool about being out on the island as the backdrop for your family's spring break. The sun feels great and while covid-19 restrictions are in place, we still felt like we got the entire Moody Experience.
