The first St. Baldrick's event in the South Texas area will be at 2 p.m. March 29th at Schroeder Hall. The event will include food, fun, and live music all for a good cause. St. Baldrick's Foundation raises money to fund pediatric cancer research, reports the Victoria Advocate. A large portion of the funds raised directly benefit children in Texas receiving treatment in Houston and the other large health care centers in the state. Participants commit to shave their heads in order to support children receiving chemotherapy who have lost their hair while raising money in the process. For more information, contact Dina F. Hardwick, lead organizer, if you would like to participate or donate email dina.hardwick@yahoo.com. For more information, visit stbaldricks.org/events.
