Parents Claim Texas PreSchool Teachers Gave Students Sleep Aides
Parents of preschool students at a Spring ISD elementary school are speaking out! They claim that teachers have been giving their children sleeping aides "sleepy stickers." The alleged incident took place at Northgate Crossing Elementary A 4 year-old preschooler, Layne Luviano, told her mom that "The sticker makes me fall asleep,"
Layne snuck one of the stickers home. Layne's mother, Lisa, went to work and ultimately found the sleeping patches being sold on Amazon. The patches are for adults and contain melatonin and other ingredients. The name of the "stickers" are Sleep Z Patch, and were allegedly given to multiple students to make them fall asleep. Spring ISD issued a statement about the incident...
These staff members were immediately removed from the classroom and placed on administrative leave, pending an ongoing investigation by the Spring ISD Police Department.
Northgate Elementary also issued a statement...
As a precautionary measure, two paraprofessionals in that classroom have also been placed on administrative leave pending the ongoing investigation by the Spring ISD Police Department, as this incident violates our Board Policy FFAC (LOCAL).
The district also clarifies that, "no employee shall give any student prescription medication, nonprescription medication, herbal substances, anabolic steroids, or dietary supplements of any type, except as authorized by this or other District policy
