As reported by the Austin American Statesman, the production of the second season of '1923' for Paramount+ is set to inject $51 million into Austin's economy from various sources, including wages, hotel stays, and utilization of local services.

They will start filming in July and continue through September. The ATX Studios in Austin will be the center of the action, housing the production offices and sound stage.

King Street Productions is estimated to pay around $15 million in local wages. The production company's local salaries, which city staffers estimate will be around $75,000. The contract gives breathing room for the total payment amount.

Haileigh Meyers, a program manager for Austin's economic development, told the Austin American-Statesman that Thursday's incentive stems from the Creative Content Incentive Program, established by the City Council in 2014.

"Since that time, we've had a range of activities — from TV production to feature films and video games," Meyers said.

Other companies that are using the incentive program include several seasons of the television show Walker and the video game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered.

The city of Austin will offer King Street Productions Inc. an incentive to hire local workers.

The company must pay union wages. If union wages are inapplicable, the city's minimum wage is at least $20.80 per hour.
