For those of you who don't know me, I will tell you that I am all about that Disney life.  Starting with the life of Walt Disney, the history of Disney, Disney movies, and of course...Walt Disney World.  I could literally write a book about Disney, but how about a blog for now.  My family and I make the trek to Disney every other year and make great family memories.  I thought it might be fun to do a blog about my top 5 Disney rides.  There are many things you just have to do to experience Disney nostalgia like the Teacups, Pirates of the Caribbean, the Country Bear Jamboree and It's a Small World.  You can also catch some awesome live shows, character experiences and watch some of the best fireworks and effect shows on earth.   Disney World has also become home to some great thrill rides.

Here are my top 5 rides:

5.  Expedition Everest, located in Asia at the Animal Kingdom.  This rollercoaster towers to 198 feet and takes you through the Himalayan mountains on a speeding train while avoiding the clutches of the mythic Abominable Snowman. Most coasters take you up a steep hill to drop you straight down.  The twist on this one is that the track changes and you will end up going backwards.  The experience of going backwards, is why Expedition Everest is number 5 on my list.

4. Soarin', located at Epcot.  Soarin' really takes ride technology to another level by making you feel like you are flying.  Take flight on a breezy, airborne adventure as you  glide above some of the most breathtaking wonders the world has to offer.  With special screens, scents, and a sound system working as one with a specially constructed vehicle.  It really feels like you are flying and that is why this my number 4 ride at Disney.

3. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, located inside of Hollywood Studios. As with every Disney attraction, you are not just getting on a ride you are being immersed in a story.  When you walk onto this ride you are immediately taken inside the Hollywood hotel on a stormy night and you get stuck in the Twilight Zone.  Your only way out is an elevator that looks sketchy at best.  When the doors close, you are taking a ride on one of the most sophisticated ride systems on the planet.  You are taken on a ride through the Twilight Zone, where you witness some very ghoulish stuff and then the tone is set.  Your elevator stops in it's tracks and then starts the fun, your car is dropped over and over at different speeds and to different heights.  No two rides are ever the same because of random computer technology.  The ride is filled with screams, making this thrill ride my number 3 Disney attraction.

2.  Space Mountain, located inside the Magic Kingdom.  Space Mountain has become a Disney icon.  Space mountain was first introduced at Disney Land in California  and was such a huge hit that Disney had no choice but to build it at their Florida park.  Space Mountain is a futuristic, spaced themed roller coaster that takes place in the dark.  Blast off on a rip-roaring rocket through the darkest reaches of outer space. You just don't know what to expect no matter how many times you have been on it.  This coaster speed is only around 30MPH, which most people would call a slow rollercoaster these days.  When you put 30MPH in a dark environment, with attentions to detail with all the effects and an awesome soundtrack, it is definitely a thrill ride you have to experience  and my number 2 pick at Disney.

1.  Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, located at Hollywood Studios.  This ride is another story that you get to star in. It starts out in Aerosmith's recording studio when their manager says they are running late for their concert in LA.  They need to get there quick, but Steven Tyler say there is no way I am leaving my fans behind, so he provides us our very own limo to get the show on time.  This is when the fun starts because that limo is your car on Rock 'n' Rollercoaster.  You go from 0-60 in 2 seconds and this rides has loops, flips and inversions and of course...it is in the dark.  Talk about an exciting ride that gets your adrenaline going just as you pull up to the concert.   A definite must for all thrill seekers and number 1 on my list.

These are my personal top 5 thrill rides, there are so many more awesome coasters, attractions, and live shows.  This blog could literally turn into a book.  With my love for Disney I am going to soon do a blog about the man behind the magic, Mr. Walt Disney.  I have found that I relate to Walt's philosophy on how to live and become successful in life.  Thanks for reading and if you have been to WDW, let me know what your favorite Disney ride is.
