Massive Swarms of People with Passion Invade Round Top Texas
What's happening in Round Top?
The countdown has already begun.
As spring makes its way to Texas, massive swarms of people with a passion for picking, shopping, bargaining, and decorating count down the days until they can invade the tiny town of Round Top, Texas.
The population of Round Top, Texas might surprise you.
On an average day in Round Top, Texas the census offers that the population of this tiny Texas town boasts a whopping 90 residents. But on Thursday, March 17th, that's going to change BIG TIME. Swarms of folks are coming from all over the freaking world to shop.
They are part of my tribe, people with a passion for antiques and oddities.
It's an invasion of the bargain snatchers!
In fact, between March 17th through April 3rd you can expect to find thousands upon thousands of people from all over the world, perusing the pasture grounds of Round Top relentlessly at the Round Top Antique and Design Show.
Dubbed a treasure hunt and a festival of epic proportions, these shows can attract 100,000 plus visitors, making it not just the largest antique show in Texas but in the nation.
Bring your wallet.
Round Top Antiques Show and Fair
And you better believe I will be there too!
This year the Round Top Antiques Spring Fair happens to be opening on my 50th birthday and it happens to be the Round Top Antiques Fair 50th Anniversary celebration too! To be clear, the Show and the Fair are two separate events occurring together.
Most of the people you meet at the fair and the show have a passion for antiques, treasure hunting, picking, bargaining, and people. Your first time there will be overwhelming to say the least so you'll need to go more than once! Be a part of the swarm!
The photo above is me the third year I went in 2015. I did not bring a car big enough to fit this painting nor did I bring enough dough but this year makes my fifth year to go and I am prepared! This is what I will be looking for on March 28th in Round Top.
If you find it before I get there, message me on the KIXS station app! I can't remember for the life of me what field it was in!!! But I need it! And you need to go to the Round Top Antiques Show!
