Keith Urban Releases Annual Calendar to Benefit St. Jude Research Hospital
For the past few years, Keith Urban has released a calendar of photos that his fans have taken of him. No, he's not trying to boost his own ego. The photo-heavy calendar is sold to benefit St. Jude Research Hospital.
Actually, the fundraiser is more of a group effort between Urban and his fans. Anyone who has snagged a photo of the 'You Gonna Fly' hitmaker can upload them to his website in hopes of landing a shot in the calendar. Several shots are collected and printed in the yearly date book so that country music fans can look at Urban all year long.
The country crooner first called on his fans to help with this project in 2002. Since the first calendar was released for 2003, it has raised more than $750,000 for St. Jude kids.
The 2013 Keith Urban calendar is available for $15 each. You can look at the famous country star all year long and help out a worthy cause. What's there to think about?
Of course, 'Idol' fans will be seeing a lot of Urban's face next year. The 13th season of the popular singing competition will air in January, and the talented singer will be seated at the judges panel for the duration. Although 'Idol' has gotten off to a rocky start thanks to some drama between judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj, Urban insists that he's having a good time being a part of it.
